Kristine always has stories of joy and gratefulness when she comes back from her trips to Mexico. She's impressed by how hospitable her hosts are when they have so little. It readjusts her view of what brings joy in life. She has some wonderful stories. Thanks for sharing this one with us. God bless you and Amy every time you look at your shoes.

Justin-

This entry means a lot to me. My grandfather was Jim Rayburn, founder of YL. I am completely sold on the ministry of Compassion International. It's great to hear that you care about what God is doing through both these great organizations.

"Thank you for my shoes" makes me realize how shallow my prayers often are.

Thanks!

Hey, I just came across your post on Facebook today. I haven't been involved in YL in almost two years since I brought the focus of my energy to getting into Art Center College of Design and moving to Pasadena a year ago start school here.
This story amazes me. It makes me ache with longing to be involved with YL again and have part in bringing these experiences to teenagers once again.
Thank you for this beautiful story, if brought tears to my eyes and I too wept with gratitude for everything I have. For the life God has given me and the opportunity to even go to college, for the shoes on my feet and the clothing I wear. The Camera in my hands that records people's lives and preserves moments for future generations has once again become my means of worship, platform of gratitude, and source of humility.
I just wanted to let you know this, and hope that you relay my gratitude and feeling of inspiration to Marty and that he could tell the YL Leaders in Liberia.
Your music has served as great inspiration in my life over the years since I first met you at Great America with my youth leader Heather Hellman. It led me to become a YL Junior Leader in high school and gave me the courage to reach out with my peers.
It them gave me guidance as I faced the challenges that most leaders face, to give my life to God before I do anything, and to share the idea of tolerance and acceptance with those around me.
Through your music I have been able to share so much with people.
Thank you for sharing your devotion first through music, now through blogging, with the rest of us.
May God bless you.

Justin, I had heard you tell this story before, and I remember the first time at your show when you mentioned Marvelous, Best name ever BTW, begin with "Thank you for my shoes" the same man taking care of all the kids, simply to hear this is a humbling experience, and every time I do I think about things I react to a little bit differently. Thank you for sharing.
